Spring flower painting!!

We have had a brilliant (and quite messy) time at ART CLUB this month at the new time of 2-3pm. It was dry and warm enough to be outside the whole time, and even though the spring sunshine was not shining, we still created some very colourful spring flower paintings!

We used our fingertips (and the occasional brush) to paint onto canvas; flowers, trees, and colourful scenes.  And it wasn’t just the children, the adults joined in too.

Everyone got experimenting with the different marks they could make from dabbing to rubbing and smudging and seeing how the colours would mix together on the canvases. We definitely got painty !!

As well as painting, the children also got involved in making flowers and plants from playdough, doodling onto some spring wallpaper and chalking on the blackboards gates.

We also all worked on a joint hand print canvas which was messy but lots of fun!

The children were very proud of their work, and pleased to take them home to display or give away.

Some children even decided to turn their finished pieces into an art sale (and managed to sell four paintings!!) After the art club had finished.

The next ART CLUB will be on Saturday 8th April at 2-3pm where we will be making some EGGS-iting art! See you there!
