Spoken Word FOR THIS MURAL

Gladys Street @ 3-6pm

Jamie has over thirty five years experience working across a multitude of disciplines with graffiti, murals, graphics, video, and glass. He has also built up an extensive Knowledge of the social history of Manchester including Old Trafford.

There is also the offering of the earth from Gladys to us, will we take it and look after it?

“It’s been a really fun project to work on and it’s been great to hear all the positive feedback from the local The children of Old Trafford inspired me to create the mural on Gladys Street. There were some beautiful images and designs created by them and it was a pleasure to see the breadth of thought that came out of the community workshops. I adapted some of the drawings to create “Gladys” and used motifs from other elements of the community response to form the strawberries and hearts design that sits behind her. Lastly I wanted to show the architectural heritage of Old Trafford as these are the sights (and in some cases sounds) that make Old Trafford the evocative and diverse place that we all love and live in.”
