Three Suites for Strings is part of an ongoing exploration looking at how we connect and attach to others and our environment. I made the dress with the elastic over two decades ago, it followed on from my work for my Interactive Arts
degree at Manchester Metropolitan University. However, as life and other interests took me in other directions the dress remained stuffed in a bag, it’s potential laying dormant. I am therefore most grateful to OT Creative space for giving me both the opportunity and encouragement to pursue this artwork and to share it with yourselves.

Three suites for strings will take on 3 different forms over the 3 week exhibition so be sure to keep checking back.

(dress fabric, secondhand; sheering elastic 50% secondhand; mannequin, secondhand; plinth, an old shelf; frame, secondhand (repurposed from a homemade printing frame); black timber with hoops (repurposed from a previous OT Creative exhibition)
