Art Workshops for Mental Health & Wellbeing
Have you ever wanted to feel free to just play and experiment?

Our Creative Making Workshops were designed to promote well-being by providing a space for exploration, creation, and the sharing of ideas. These sessions offered a unique and liberating experience, where participants were free to create without any expectations or pressure regarding the outcome. This environment fosters the creation of new art in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

In our creative making sessions, there was no predefined aim. There are no right or wrong ways to engage in the process; it is all about having fun and experimenting with various materials. Participants were encouraged to fold, cut, glue, twist, bend, and twirl the materials to their heart’s content. The only objective was to explore and invent. The experiments do not need to resemble anything specific—this is about creative sculpturing that focuses on creating interesting forms, discovering what works, and developing ideas further. Whether you are an artist or a budding one; this creative process is a great way of kick starting your creativity.

In this window exhibition, you can see a wide style of work and a variety of materials and outcomes displayed. Each experiment is unique to its creator and cannot be compared and has not been preplanned. This creative process enables new art to be made, free from expectations and the pressure of replicating the known. The participants took on this process and the challenges faced with this approach and truly embraced the freeing and at times daunting, direction their art would take them. They achieved excellent results and are commended for their bravery to try the unknown, have faith in the process whilst ultimately creating beautiful works of art.
The window exhibition is on until Sunday 2nd June. Come along and meet the participant artists and view the work on Wednesday 29th May for a Brew on the Bench special! 1-3pm
