Felttipping by Sara Hodgson

Sara is a passionate and imaginative artist who has been creating vibrant, colourful felt-tip artwork for over five years. Before discovering her love for Sharpie pens and bold patterns, she spent time painting, allowing her creativity to grow and evolve. Her work is full of life, bursting with bright colours and intricate designs that reflect her joyful and energetic personality.
Art has always been a big part of Sara’s life, influenced from a young age by her mum, a professional artist. It’s clear she inherited the artistic gene! Making artwork is a relaxing and satisfying experience for Sara. She enjoys being part of art groups, especially the Drawing Social Group at Limelight, where she’s inspired by others and enjoys the friendly, creative atmosphere.

Sara’s process begins with drawing in felt-tip, then adding colour, finishing with beautiful, detailed patterns. She finds inspiration everywhere—from other artists to greeting cards, calendar pictures, magazines and books.
“I hope people see the colourfulness, the imagination and all the different patterns in my work,” Sara says. “I’m always pleased when I finish a picture—it’s very satisfying. And if someone likes it too, that really impresses me!”
