Discover Arts Award
& Puppet Parade

The puppet parade was organised as part of the Reclaimed Narratives project. Workshops were held in three local schools where over 180 children gained their Discover Arts Award. Working with Artist Rosie Antiszko the children created their own animals and creatures of an Old Trafford Folk tale using cereal boxes they had brought in to school.

To close the Ayres road festival we gathered together and walked along Ayres road waving our cereal box puppets and flags made from scrap material led by our very own OT green man, a drummer and some roller skaters! A fantastic celebration of the Old Trafford community spirit and pride.
“A wonderful day with loads to do. I met lots of lovely people and it made me feel really proud of where I live. We loved the Puppet parade! “

“My son has talked lots about the puppets they made from recycled materials at school, we made sure we were here today to join in .”
