‘As light as a feather, as windy as the day, when all the maple trees, stand in your way. And then you hear a deafening sound, but then the ground flies away and you are left in a dark grey place. And then all your thoughts come back to you, but then the ground turns into lots of different shapes, but your eyes can’t hold it and you fall asleep. In your dream you dream of tigers and zebras and lots of other animals. And you wake up to a warm, cosy home with a fire still blazing. Your mum comes up to you and gives you some hot chocolate. And all those scary thoughts have gone away now and you feel relaxed. And then your mum puts a hot, steaming plate in your hands with fish and chips and burgers. You eat it and then you feel so tired that you fall asleep. You dream of fairies and unicorns and smiling faces without any scary things happening and you feel so safe.’ • Poem by Sophie
