A Selection of Photos by Stacey Newman

Stacey Newman is a local photographer from Old Trafford and founder of Mindful Photography Walks. Stacey is a self taught photographer who uses phone and digital cameras in her photography. 

Mindful Photography walks started life with Stacey taking daily walks during covid lockdowns using the 5 4 3 2 1 coping strategy for her anxiety, this strategy consists of 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste. The main aim with this approach in photography is about the process rather than the end photographic result. 

The images on display have been taken on a mix of Mindful photography walks and trips to dream locations of California, and Arizona in the US. Each photograph is influenced by the 5 4 3 2 1 coping strategy and shows the world in Stacey’s eyes, and how there’s something we each can see,touch,hear, and smell, that connects us to ourselves and the world around us. 

Mindful Photography walks run on the last Friday of each month at 10.30am from OT creative SPACE, and we would love for you to join us and connect with the world around you. The Next one is Friday March 25th!
