“Creativity is necessary.”
I have been drawing and painting since childhood directly influenced by the smell of my uncle’s oil paints/paintings.
It was at school when I was first introduced to etching in 1985 and I have been hooked on printmaking ever since.
I have been mentoring and facilitating creative multi disciplined workshops and exhibitions in and around the Greater Manchester area to increase awareness of the arts to all ages and walks of the community since 2003.
My aim being to evoke emotions and stimulate your visual senses. Whilst encouraging engagement crossing the boundaries of culture and diversity.
I enjoy working with young offenders and adult social care especially as I find the work of the excluded transcends their truth and builds confidence in a subject they may never of experienced.
I also volunteer in and around the community and for the past few years I have been working for The Big Life Group where I run the art group at the Zion Community Resource Centre and in the Education Centre at The Whitworth Art Gallery (UoM ), where I am also a member of the Collections Care and Documenting team for the upcoming Whitworth Wallpaper Exhibition: Before the Walls Came Down.
